Eco-Friendly Energy Efficiency
As a homeowner, increasing the energy efficiency of your home is a fantastic way to save money on your energy bill and gain comfort for your family. One way to achieve this is to insulate the attic and walls of your home with fiberglass or cellulose. Even though there are several residential insulators available in the industry, fiberglass and cellulose are the most popular and commonly used.
Cellulose is a loose fill recycled insulation material that is inexpensive and contains fire, mold, rodent and insect retardants. It can be blown in hard to reach areas, attics, wall cavities and underneath sub floors using water-based adhesives and is excellent to fill in the areas fiberglass batts do not cover.
Cellulose insulation has several significant advantages over traditional fiberglass insulation:
Contains 80% recycled materials (newspaper) and is far less dangerous for the installation company compared to fiberglass.
Has a higher R-Value content than fiberglass per inch and is two to three times denser with greater resistance to air flow.
Carries a Class 1/A Fire Safety Rating as determined by ASTM E84. Contains boric acid or borax, natural retardants comparable in toxicity to table salt.
Fills wall cavities and nooks and crannies better than fiberglass batts. Can be installed with wet-spray and dry-spray applications.
Contains no formaldehyde-based binders and is not manufactured with petrochemicals or high-toxicity chemicals.
Decreases noise pollution, provides lifetime warranty, and includes mold, rodent and insect retardants for complete protection.
California Doors and Windows cellulose insulation installation is fast, simple and easy. Most projects are completed in one to two days.
We enter your attic through attic access, cap off any electrical or mechanical fixtures and install 8" of Cellulose to achieve an R30 Value, providing superior insulation and energy savings.
We enter your basement and sub-floor access, cap off any electrical and mechanical fixtures and spray 8" of cellulose to achieve an R30 Value for complete coverage and protection.
We drill two holes into your existing walls, one at the top and one at the bottom. We pump in loose-fill cellulose into the wall cavity and then cap over the holes with proper building materials.
Cellulose loose fill insulation must be blown in with an insulation blowing machine designed for both closed-cavity (walls and vaulted ceilings) and open-blow (attics, basements and sub-floors) applications. Our installation teams are trained to create the right combination between the netting and the amount of compression between wall studs and framing joists to create a tight seal around all electrical, plumbing and mechanical fixtures.
Requires netting to contain the material and eliminate settling in every cavity in walls and ceilings.
Mixed with latex-based adhesive and misted with water to activate the glue, then blown into cavities for superior coverage.
Requires netting to contain the material and eliminate settling throughout all cavities in walls and ceilings.
Why Blown-In Insulation? It is fast and simple to install, relatively inexpensive and works tremendously to decrease your energy bills. Most utility companies and the Federal Government provide tax credits and rebates for installing energy efficient cellulose insulation.

R-Value is a term in the building and construction industry that measures thermal resistance. It is the ratio of the difference in temperature through an insulator and the heat flux (Heat Transfer per unit area).
R-Value relates to the thermal resistance of the unit, gives it a unit value for the particular material and is expressed as the thickness of any given material which is divided by the thermal conductivity. To determine the thermal resistance of an area of material you can divide the unit thermal resistance by the area of the material. R-Value is the reciprocal of U-Value.
